I suppose I should have asked this question before I bought the TMCC unit, but does it make any difference which version (age) of the TMCC unit and/or can you upgrade them like you can DCS?
I bought a old/new TMCC that was manufactured in 1995, but never used. I only plan on using DCS with my system, and just needed the TMCC to control one Lionel engine I just bought. Is there anything I should be concerned about or will need to do with the TMCC before it will work? Thanks, Andrew |

My TMCC, purchased around the same time, 1995, works well with DCS. As far as I know there are no TMCC upgrades. DCS found my engines when I set them up and I don't use my TMCC remote at home, ever :-) Enjoy the DCS!

Actually, DCS does not "find" TMCC units. The remote just accepts the data you enter. You don't even need a TMCC command base or even have the TIU powered to enter TMCC engines. Cheers, Gary |
