You need position 7 and 8 on the 8 pin header. You can use the existing strobe on the roof. It will work. The upgrade kits give you a new one. If the LED pops out easy (they all do) use the new one. If not, use what is in place.

This is my cheat sheet to ID every component to the correct harness. Marty Fitzhenry TCA # 79-13758 TTOS # 3057 LOTS # RM-4833 LCCA # 28444 MTH Repair Technician MTH DCS Beta Tester |

Marty, thanks for the schematic. It has proven very informative.
Question, looks like thePS2 board has pins for a Mars light. Is this true of all PS2 boards for Gees and F units? I am wanting to add a Mars light to a GP20. The Tex & Pac had dual beam Mars headlight on the front only, but only one bulb was lit up,(the second,a red, was used in emergency.) Would you know what voltage the bulb might need? More than that, what is the voltage from the Mars/headlight pins. It may also have to drive a flasher unit of some sort. Dallie makes a Mars like system that looks like it would run at track voltage. Also, would a would a PS1 board in a GP9 have pins for a Mars light? Again, the schematic has answered a few question, Thanks Dan |

Nothing special but it keeps you from constantly going back tracing wires. After you do 50-60 upgrades, you start to remember the wires on the board.
