Luke,
I think you got a bad "Add". It seems to be caused by a low battery in the engine or low signal strength. Delete the engine from the remote and try adding again, maybe on a slightly different spot of track. Charge the battery. I've occasionally had to try three or four adds to get an engine added in a low signal area. Cheers, Gary |

Luke,
Gary is correct. It's the result of insufficient signal strength, or some other signal related anomaly, that causes the add to fail due to poor communication with the engine. The soft keys are the default set that DCS will provide in this case and they are not "MDS", rather, they are "MTC". Thank you both! Will give the battery a good charge, and see what happens. Again, Thanks!

Just to provide info for anyone else that runs into this, I charged the battery overnight, and put new rechargeable batteries in the DCS remote, I deleted the loco, re-added the loco and started it up. All of the usual softkey functions were present and all worked as designed. Thanks to all for the help!
