Outside 2-Rail "G" layout runs on MTH DCS. Upgraded from 3.1 to 4.0 and am having some strange issues that I did not have with 3.1. I have loader 1.83, do I need to get 1.57 again?

I myself, had recommended trying 3.1 if 4.0 was acting up until they fixed it. With the new versions out 4.02(a) most of the problems are disappearing on my G gauge. I still find one engine reverting back to factory settings? once in awhile. My challenger goes back to #2 for accel and #4 for dec (#?=roughly, for the third time) and I keep them set on #1. I wish they would even have more acc/deceleration. Every once in awhile an engine in lashup does not get a command to stop or similar. That's why I'm working toward a perfect track signal, Joe

Asking for earlier stable v3.1 release reminds me of the trick Microsoft is now doing. You must buy your new computer with the Vista bloatware installed. However the vendor includes a certificate to allow the new user to downgrade to XP with latest service packs. The reasoning goes that Microsoft can show the overwhellming public response for the bloatware sales figure while downplaying how cr***y it is.

Whatching all the troubles that have been reported makes me glad that I was not an early adopter. My DCS v 3.1 clunks along very nicely thank you. 3.1 might be the turtle to the rabbits 4.x, but 3.1 keeps ticking away for me.
