I have uploaded before with my Dell laptop and Siig Express Card by turning off the antivirus program. Now that is not working. I deleted the latest loader program and reinstalled. Any sugestions as to what I should try next?

How about some more information like where is the program hanging up, what type of cable are you using to connect the computer to the TIU, which version of the loader are you using?

VaGolfer1950 I am using the latest loader - reloaded from the MTH web site today, the Siig card with 9 pin cable from card to TIU. The system will load a sound set to the engine and other functions, but the upload from the engine seems to be the most sensitive function. I used this same system to upload sound sets from the engine to the computer earlier this year - had to turn the anti virus program off to use.

Do you have the engine only on the track? I recommend using a small section of track that is the only track hooked up to the TIU. Also do you have a firewall turned on? Windows firewall can interfere with loading if it is still on.

Bruce,

To avoid 'conflicts', etc. I disconnect from the network and then turn off/exit all the programs (that will shut off) that are running in the System Tray (icons in the bottom right corner of the Desktop).

Thank you Thank you Thank you!!!! I also was having trouble with a load into a new board. I followed these suggestions and it worked the first time. My PS-1 Dash 9 ES44AC now converted to PS-2 is very greatful also. Bob Green

I recommended applying power directly to the rollers with alligator clips as well a separate set attached to the frame for a ground connection. I just reloaded a sound file this way and it worked fine. Using track, I could not get it to load. Might be worth a try.

TomK I turned off all the programs represented by icons that could be turned off, disconnected the web cable and ran the laptop disconnected to everything except the Siig serial express card. Still no luck. I can use my wife's computer which has a 9 pin port and that works so I know that all the cables etc work. I can download a sound set to the engine with the laptop but something has changed since I uploaded a sound set from an engine the last time. ???

Bruce,

Since you were successful using your wife's PC you've eliminated the MTH SW and the cables as likely suspects.
The only other thing that comes to mind is to disable the Windows or third-party firewall your using (after you've disabled everything else) as this could be blocking the transfer into the PC.
I'd also be curious to see if your wife's PC works with the Siig Express Card. If it works then the most likely culprit are Windows OS SW settings (like the Firewall) or possibly one of the Security SW elements (Anti-virus / Spyware / SPAM / etc.) which can be temporarily disabled (after you've disabled everything else).
