Despite the el peaking through, the place looks soul-less on TV, sort of the Vegas version of Yankee stadium. You can still get single $2,625.00 (plus the $59.70 ticketmaster "convenience charge") tickets in the 5th row behind the dugout for opening day.

rat, your reply disappeared. But, I'll definitely go, I wish they had "cheapest available" on the ticket master website. I looked for the games against Oakland and they offered me two tickets at $900 each.

I brought my daughter to her one and only game at their previous home. I got corporate tickets that were in row F behind the 3rd base dugout that were "only" $220 face.

Let me say this. I bleed pinstripes. I've been to all 3 Yankee Stadiums. Started going in 63. Been a fan since 61 1st grade. I was at the last game on 9/21. I wanted to be at 4/3 game after all it is the first. I wasn't really sure what to expect, but let me say this , barring the cost involved, you won't be disappointed. Going to the stadium will be like going to the airport, you need to get there 3 hours ahead, to take it all in on your first trip.

rat,

Having spent all night on the sidewalk in the Bronx for post season tickets, I understand where you're coming from. I turned 4 years old days before they closed the original stadium for the remodel. I am still bummed that my dad didn't take me. My daughter was three in the picture above, and I was going to make sure she couldn't say the same to me about not taking her.

I went to the Ranger's ballpark in Arlington. It's in the middle of millions of acres of flat land. The outside is perfectly square, yet there are quirky field dimensions. It's so clearly "fake". I have been to three games at Fenway, and the Yankees have won all three Smile . They shoehorned the place into the space that they had and its quirks are real. Yankee stadium was so imposing with its massive upper deck, and while lefties had the short porch, righties had death valley. I have looked for stats on how many homeruns to left center landed between the 430' concrete wall and the 399' wall they eventually erected (I think it's most of them). Death valley no longer exists. And the seating bowl looks like every other HOK stadium. They also have some nerve (not as much as the Mets) taking out seats when they have had over 4 million fans each of the past 4 years.

I was there Saturday. It was a great feeling. It was new...but then again, it felt like Yankee Stadium. I'll have more pics later this week.

Ohhh Brother are the Yankee haters going to give us the score every time they lose! Like we didn't know the score. Just to let you know that if you put up the scores of every game the majority would be wins for the Yankees. If you did that since the inception of the Yankees there would only have been 22 seasons where your posting of losing scores would be a higher percentage of winning scores. The other 85 seasons were winning seasons. What did Cleveland do in those years? Big Grin

Left 10 men on in the first 5 innings. Well, get to try again today. As for the Cubs, when do they start saying wait till next year?

You should have sent your picture of the 2nd homerun to steiner. At least we know your photo is real.

I have my cano bat next to Bucky's curse of the Bambino bat. Smile You know Steiner has sold so much dirt...they could have dug a new subway stop

How nice is it that Metro North FINALLY built a station at the Stadium? Thirty three years after Mayor Lindsay scrapped the original plan to do so. If used by the public the station will keep thousands of cars away from the Stadium on game days...making it easier for those of us who fled the city to park nearby. Thanks
