Well besides a 400w trans & DCS
Three separate transformers. However I would not use the 40w ones for passenger or subway sets as they are very under powered & can damage your power units depending on size of layout or cars running. That said, running anything more then four subway cars will put you at high risk for such. ps, MTH's smallest trans is 50w & Lionels is 40, not sure what ones your are using but both are under powered |

Recommendation:
A Z-4000 if you want to run all of those off one transformer. Otherwise, get a Z-1000 for each of the MTH subway sets. The 40 watt transformer will just overload and give up trying to run any of them (especially the R1 and R40 sets) Use the Lionel transformer to power the LIRR set. It (most likely a CW-80) won't play nice with the electronics in the MTH sets. If you have any intent of interconnecting the tracks upon which these sets run, then go for the Z4000 or a Lionel ZW. ---PCJ |
