In my local Atlanta Journal newspaper this morning was an article and picture of a crane dumping decommissioned New York city subway cars from a large barge into the ocean. They are to serve as an artificial reef 15 miles off the the Georgia coast. The cars appear to have the 8 doors and 8 windows removed from the sides. I looked for a link to our newspaper's WEB page, but it was not there.

Guess they con'ed another state to dump them at. They were doing this off the NJ coast but this practice will now be discontinued as it has been found that they were just deteriorating fast & not serving the intentions that they were 1st said to which was being an artificial reef. Instead it is what it is, just another dump site
