Those R11s sure look great on your layout Frank. Is that your layout or a club layout? How about some more pics of it? Big Grin

Chris thanks for the kind words...the pictures are taken on my home layout.
it is "L" shaped 10.5 feet X 13.5 feet...the 10.5 foot leg is almost 4.5 feet wide, the 13.5 foot leg is 7 feet wide. there are three 042 loops on the main level, the outer two are connected with a crossover. there is an 031 loop on the second level. The third level is HO scale with two loops connected with a crossover and is DCC powered. I use the HO section to test stuff for work. The fourth level is a loop of HOn2 1/2.
I will try to take more photos of it this week end.

Great shots, Darianj. While I find pics of subway cars headed for disposal kind of morbid and sad, I can't turn away when I see them, very compelling for some reason. And hey, belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Now go out and treat yourself to a new set of R11s, R34s, whatever floats your boat. Big Grin

Steve VP

ps I sure wish you'd tell me how you do that moving graphic of the R40 slants entering and leaving the station. Niiiiice... Cool

Can you imagine some diver finding all thoes subway cars in a few hundred years? I'd love to have one out in the back yard just to put a subway layout in it.

Someone should buy a bunch of thoes, re-build them into small homes and start a retirement community for transit employees in Florida! How about a Subway Motel?

Happy birthday Darianj! Great pics!!! Big Grin When did they paint another SMEE into silver and blue MTA colors? Smile Were they freshly painted? I never thought to ride the Circle Line to get shots of 207. Great idea. Going on the must-do list for this Fall. Big Grin

Thanks Chris. I have no idea when those cars were painted.
Taking the Circle Line was the wife's idea and I had not idea that the 207 was on the route. If I knew, I would've been ready...outside the boat and with a better lens on the camera. I was lucky...5 min.s earlier and I would've missed the whole thing will at the snack bar!

When you go, take the 3 hour cruise..I believe it's the only one that goes that far up the east river and around the whole island.
