I went down to Ready to Roll, the best train store in Miami, to pick up my beautiful r-34 add-ons and noticed Mike Wolf in the store. He was pouring over some steam engine books with a bunch of fans discussing how MTH had nailed some fine point of accuracy. After a bit, I felt compelled to interject. I said, "hey Mike, stop making those long ago dead engines, and keep building subways. At least some of us and our kids have actually ridden in them. Traction is the future, this old stuff is dead." Hey, it was the ex-NY'er in me and I wanted to make a point. Needless to say, I was given the look of death from the steam fans. Mike chuckled "really?" Feeling like I had already jumped in the water and had nothing else to lose, I said "that's right, and your next set needs to be an R-15 in maroon or silver with blue pin stripe." He laughed and seemed to acknowledge my request. Hey, I risked being pummeled by steam engine fans but I did my part for the cause. What about you guys?
