Still waiting for this thing - other stores seem to have gotten and shipped them out already.

I haven't received my LIRR M-7 set either from Nassau Hobbies. I did get the add ons several weeks ago and love them. Maybe the sets were sent back due to the station decals being Metro North.........

I think the M-7 set can only pull six cars. I haven't had a chance to try it yet. But the set dosent have directional lighting. I'm thinking about trying to add it, but I have never done it before. Also does anyone know if it's possible to add realistic couplers to this set instead of the draw bars??????

Here's a video of my Metro-North set with 6 cars. As you can see, it has a bit of trouble getting underway with the add-on cars--at least if you try to imitate prototypical acceleration. I imagine if you just goosed the power it would get up and go, but it's quite obvious that the power car just doesn't have the low-speed torque to manhandle this train.

As for putting real couplers on this train, it would take quite a bit of work since the train doesn't appear to have been designed to ever accommodate them. I proposed making copies of the MU couplers molded into the end car pilots, and making them "work" by embedding rare-earth magnets behind their faces.

While I am away, the truck from Lionel arrived yesterday and they all went out and all locals were called. I suspect the sheer amount of sets that we ordered did slightly delayed them.

As I have said before, "Someone has to be first and someone has to be last" Enjoy the set and make sure you check out the NEW Redbird subway set from Lionel in Book 2! :-)

Back to the craps table.....

Charlie, nobody called me - but I just called the store and was advised it was shipping out later today, thanks.
