I trekked out there with a car full of friends, and we had a blast. got some pics, and a few ideas for my future layout plans. the O scale Model Transit Assosications, layout was awesome, as was the HO (yeah I know) chicago L setup in the corner. I even enjoyed the N scale Kato layout. Even ran into NYsubway18. all in all, it was fun.

Heh, I just got home. I got caught in the "Mother of All Signal Outages" on the way back. Boarded the 5:57 at New Brunswick.

Arrived Penn Station at 11PM Eek

Other than that, it was a good time.

MRCRRTECH, Thanks for these pics.

Hey Pelham post some of those Rutgers pics as you had promised. Had a tough day today. Saw some of my colleagues of 15 years on the job get laid off.

There are days when the world closes in on you and you wished you had some words of comfort for yourself and for those that are feeling the pain of what this economy has done to the work place.

As of last week, we knew something was cooking at work. I don't even want to look at a computer screen today, that's how much I share the pain of one of my best friend and colleague. I sat with him for a while after work, we talked... he is so afflicted. Thanks for letting me share these thoughts with you.

Thanks Pelham in advance for the pics!

Regards,

Prairie

well, been caught up in my own issues. Friend got laid off today, my grandmothers dementia is causing havoc with my mom, so she's causing me havoc as well, and my brother got laid off as well. I wasnt able to get to the NJ Hi railers open house thanks to that stupid assed marathon, and to top it off, my favorite radio station webt off the air, and it was replaced by some crappy KTu wannabe from Long Island. Evil is a pretty good description for my current mood. I havent even had time to upload em to flickr, but will try to do so by tomorrow.

Got time to work on Flickr, since my union company (for now) gives us the day off to go vote and choose who will rape and pillage our wallets for the next 2 to 4 years. I didnt have time to tag em, but they are mostly of an Oscale setup, an HO "L" layout, and a KATO "N" scale setup. not much, but hope it brightens some dark moods http://www.flickr.com/photos/p...s/72157622724728784/

Thanks for the photos, Pelham.
Those "L" shots with the Electroliner
in them give me more encouragement to
continue socking away money to buy the
MTH version. Won't have anyplace to run
it for some time, but don't want them to
sell out before I can buy one.

Thanks Pelham for the pics, you really captured the highlights. Hang in, guys, better days do come thank God, but we never really put these things behind us completely. Best that we remember to lift each other up whenever we can. Wink

Pelham,

Thanks so much for posting those pics. Please know that I am proud of the work in progress on your layout and as such you should be too. We will both get over our "dark moods" one way or another and I will pray towards that end.

Steve, thanks so much for those uplifting words. Further, your words ring so true, when you say that we never "forget" those things completely.

Your support in those hard times is appreciated.

Wow. I didnt realize the effect posting those pics would have. thank you for the encouragement, and I'm happy that those pics brought some pleasant moments. I saw the MTH Electroliner, as well as some wierd lookin train, when I picked up my track at Willis Hobbies. Sweet, think I'll ask them to test run it next time. Once again, your welcome, and thank you for the encouragement.

Lord knows I've walked a mile or two in your shoes. And, truth be told, I'm still trekking. But in my worst times, there were always people there to encourage and inspire, some close (as you might expect) and some who came literally out of nowhere. With each new opportunity, I vowed to somehow pay it forward.
