Scott just posted over on the 3-Rail board that MTH has released a product update video on the new R-11s. About halfway through you will get to see them in action. They look great! Big Grin

Maybe with some new subway releases we can wake up and shake up this forum again

I have to agree. Without any new sets being released, this forum pretty much dies. Waiting for Lionel to issue anything is like watching paint dry. Will we ever see anything from Lionel - anyone know?

I had a Lionel rep tell me that they have no plans to ever produce another subway set. Looks like MTH is our only savior. Actually, that's just fine by me - keep it all one command system. Smile

Thanks for posting Chris. Looks like a very nice set especially in that plated finish. Cool

I'll take a set, very nice work. MTH is still the Subway King. Its a shame they used that same sound file "AGAIN" What could it cost to make a new one, change the recordings a bit. Use a different guy, whatever. Thanks for the link Chris.

I dunno SNO, I just bought a set of R40 slants and the R143s are on the horizon...there's only so many sneaky bucks to spread around. Hmmmm, subway trains or take the wife and (maybe) the twenty-something kids out to dinner or whatever? Hmmm, choices, choices... Big Grin

OK, so about the other end plate. I know one destination sign says "Brighton Beach". I think the other says "Queens Plaza via bridge" Is this correct, and does anyone know anything about that route? My Standards are routed for a similar run.

I'm really hoping they updated things for the R142. anyone who has ridden one of these knows they sound distinctly different from previous MTA cars. The motors have a distinctive whine to them, the announcements are in different voices, and the chimes sound like nothing else, except maybe an R160. Ain't gonna hear anyone sellin hotdogs on one of these babies, lol. of course, with the recent reports of flashers on the trains, that might make for some interesting sounds....
