There is a lower level that hasn't been used yet which was the long term plan for extending the LIRR into Grand Central It has to be the coldest tunnel in the system During the winter the giant icycles hang down from floor to ceiling in the lower level

Ben, are there any rats down that deep? I was waiting for the Shuttle on Wednesday (on way back from Yankee win over Twins....Moose was great) and saw a few rats just playing around the third rail. Yuch!

The rats aren't prejudiced They go everywhere If you want to see them at their best go to the south side of the 34 st platform on the downtown side on the 6th ave line.
