Subway modeling fever appears to be spreading to other scales with the release of a number of nicely executed HO sets by Life-Like/Walthers. I recently saw some of the equipment and it is very well done. Are any forum members supplementing their O gauge rapid transit rosters with these fine models?

I have all the sets they came out with. The last set they came out with in green, they added the gates to them and made it DCC ready. They are very nice. I also have the R10's, LoV's, one R17, and the BMT 1200's all in brass.

I also have the R32's and R46's in nickel plated brass in "N" scale.

And Yes, I also have the "FEVER"

I have been looking for models in ho hoping that the cost would be less and all I could find were the brass ones made by a copuple fo companys. The ones I found in ho actually seamed to more more expensive I guess because they didn't seam to be mass produced. I haven't seen anyting by walthers/life-like but I hope they are reasonable in price, MCD do you have a link for these modesl you own?

stevin, I never put any of my HO and N scale stuff on the net. I'll get to it I'm sure. Here's a few links to the HO Walthers stuff:

this set is about right price wise
R17's in the Red/Silver

this set is way to high but you can see them
R17 Red/red

There are the Silver/Blue as well. That set seems to go for about 200-250. I have two sets of the Red/Silver but I want to change the color and graffiti.

Here's a few videos to check out.

These are HO HO Walthers/Lifelike

HO

another HO

Heres a good one

By the looks of the way that auctions going with 5 days left it will reach about the 200 range. Are these good auility cars as well as being some what scarce for the price they are going for.

Yes, they run and look fine. No where near the problems as we have with the O scale stuff.

stevin:

Trainworld in Brooklyn had a fairly substantial stock of the Life-Like TA sets. It may be worth your while to check with them and see what is still available.

Regards,

Bob

Trainworld informed me their stock is at about 100 sets. We buy them just for the chassis at MSI-Chicago. Is there any interest in the car bodies. We must have 50 to get rid of on e-bay.
