It would, but if you are running mostly MTH subways why not just get a Z4000?
Check out the Subway Section here at OGR! Chris C. Shaffer TCA 08-62434 http://www.trainweb.org/subway/index.htm |

that was my thought, actually. in fact, if you are gonna go that route, why dont u just get DCS?how many tracks do you have? unless you plan to run multiple trains on one track, you can probably get by with one z750 or z1000 for each loop. Im currently doing that on my "temporary" setup

HI, I WOULD BE RUNNING 4 SETS ON SEPERATE TRACKS AT ON TIME. THOUGHT THE NEW ZW WOULD DO THE JOB BECAUSE IT CAN RUN 4 UNITS. THE MTH 4000 CAN ONLY RUN TWO SET'S AT ONE TIME (CORRECT) TONY

I use a new ZW to run two subway loops. I have no problem. The ZW only put out 17 volts max. A Z4000 puts out 24 volts max. Your subways may not run as fast with the ZW. You could also add two more brick to the ZW to give you more power but you will not get more voltage.

Both transformers are good and fully capable of handling four trains If they are independent loops just put a toggle switch on each loop and use one handle for two tracks
