No its not a typo. I managed to fix my customized R17 by mating the shell with a spare R26 chassis. I decided to take the last digit of each and Voila! the R76!! I now have, in addition to the R76: 1 R26, 1 R1, 1 R12 (white) 1 BMT 2500, and 2 R42 (D and E) Sets. Also, I have 1 red R17 car, 4 R26 cars, 1 R17 work car, 1 r17 work car fitted with a Loco sounds chassis, that bootleg SW1500 swithcer, and a few other cars from the work train set. aither the Red R17 or one of the work cars will be fitted with the stripped frame from my blown up R17, and made into a track cleaning car. The sacrificed R26 shell Might end up fitted with the Loco Sounds chassis. I also started working on an El using Atlas track. the curves will be 45/54 for now, but might work in an outer loop of 63. I want to be able to run the 2500's without any problems. So far trying to use basswood, 1/2"x1/2" for the legs, 1/2"x1" for the cross pieces, and 1/2"x1/4" for the track girders. screws and shoe goo will be used to hold it together, and plans a re for it to be easily disassembled. Right now its trial and error, but you cant get an omlette without wrecking some eggs...
