well, you can already see the ING express on the 7/Flushing line. All the cars are R62s, and many of them have ads for ING or Queens College, etc, running on the sides. Before that, the MTA would lease out whole cars to one advertiser. One would board a train and be enveloped in an ad for anything from vacation spots to , well, anything.
Its not just NYC. In chicago, they have done some of the same. I remember I was discussing the dismal state of a friends relationship with him, when we boarded a bus whose entire interior, ceiling too, was plastered with ads for "Divorce now". Can't tell you the double takes and jaw dropping that happened at that moment, lol. Guess we're gonna have to get used to it. |

Many of the Orlando, FL busses have full up ads painted on them. I first saw this ~20 years ago on the SCAT (Space Coast Area Transit) busses in the Melbourne, FL area. Some of he busses are basically Public Service Announcements, but most are commercial ads.
