Actually, trains are my second hobby, in terms of cronological order. My first was model ships, mainly WW2 and later warships. I have assembled or collected over 400 of these 1/700 scale ships, and have close to 100 unassembled at this time. I also like aircraft, and have abot 60 1/600 scale miniatures. I wont even get into the various starships, battlestars, etc. that are hovering about...

MUSIC!!! Classic Rock, especially. Right now, I've got about 8 guitars, mixed between electric, acoustic/electric, acoustic, bass, and about 4 amps to support them and my two keyboards. Great thing is, I'm in the process of combining my two hobbies. The 11x14 NYC Subway shelf layout I'm doing is in my 'music studio' (actually the former bedroom that my two buys vacated when they ventured out on their own). So, when I'm not rocking out, I'm riding the NYC nostalgia rails with my soon-to-be-completed, bi-level, two-track subway system. Now, if I could only get my younger son's !@#$%^& digital camera to work, I could show you guys what I mean... Mad Cool

ps I know if I don't get the pics out soon, Chris is gonna ride me like a carousel pony. Big Grin

I hardly have any time for my first hobby - who has time for a second? Wink Seriously, I guess it would be photography...but then again I usually photograph trains so does that even count as a separate hobby? Big Grin

Check out the Subway Section here at OGR!

Walking through botanical gardens, looking up endemic plants. Love the patterns and symmetry behind garden layouts:
