I've not, but I've heard good things about them.
I don't care for any of their "conversion" kits...but I think their complete locomotive kits (garrets, 0-4-4-0, sloped back tender, climax) are pretty cool. Michael 19th century On3...and a touch of C&S. Mostly DSP&P pre-1885 renumbering. http://thesouthparkline.blogspot.com/ |

I ordered a couple of their kits quite some time back. Great kits and excellent service! The kits I ordered, the Climax and the 0-4-4-0 Logging Mallet, are not real easy to assemble, and soldering the brass parts together is required.

_______________________________________________________________________________ I have built several kits from Backwoods Miniatures. His etched brass parts are very nice to work with and go to gether well, assuming one can solder neatly. The last kit I built was the Operating American Hoist and Derrick ditcher. I changed the original motors and gear boxes to run on DCC with a joy stick. The ditcher actually scoops up dirt and drop it in a gondola. I also replaced the cord, used for a cable, to a 40 links to the inch chain. Dave T. |
