Well Stan somehow I missed this thread until now. I don't tend to check the narrow gauge forum that often. My mistake for sure.

You are indeed an accomplished Model Railroader! You have captured the essence of narrow gauge so effectively in my humble opinion. There's something about a well done point to point layout that shouts realism. You have a nice touch with the general clutter and yet you have not turned it into a junkyard. There is believeability in every scene and craftsmanship as well. Whether or not I could build a beautiful layout is one thing, but I sure know one when I see it...and yours is! I admire your long term commitment to developing this treasure. Keep pouring yourself into this wonderful railroad Stan, it's great.

Not too shabby for a Canadian COF.

I agree with those who say it ought to be featured in OGR. Give in, Stan.

I have added one shot of the T12. Seems this loco is quite popular although scarce.
You either like it or hate it.... Oops

Thanks Charlie for the update. I think Keith Wiseman may be building these cars. I do not have a log train at present as I feel it requires a Shay to really look authentic and my roster is empty.

There is a lot of finely detailed cars coming on line...what a diffence to a few years ago. You could find ,maybe a Simpson brass caboose or some imported brass tank cars ,and you built the rest.... Eek

I don't have a lumber train either, but I've been thinking about someday building a Heisler. HO drivers of the correct size...perhaps WSL #3? But that is a long, long way down the road! I'll probably have acquired and run the wheels off of a B-man shay (regauged to On3) long before I get a Heisler (Charles Heisler was from my home town)!

Foothill Model Works offers some really cool WSL stuff...as does Rio Grande Models.

Michael and zak98- Thanks for your kind comments. The layout is as much as I can handle now and like everyone else I have come to the conclusion I've built too many freight cars ! If I place all the equiipment on the rails I end up with deadlock..... Confused

My problem lies in the basement with so many other modelers who feel they need and extra loco....this problem just keeps multyplying. Now it's necessary to keep all those wheels clean for operation and this may take another evening... Razz We end up as Molly Maids dusting our latest toys for operation likely to-night...!

From what I see on layouts operating with DCC.it is a smoother operating layout because the juice is on full and creates better contact between the rail and drivers..just the ramblings of someone with too much time on his hands... Oops

I have added two new shots to Flikr.

One is a close-up of Midwood Junction. As you can see I enjoy buildings and creating scenes.

The second shot of C&S #74 is a locomotive entirely restored from a hobby-shop fire in New York State. This is the work of the late Harold Midwood. It took over a year to complete the model.
When I first saw it all that remained was the frame and drivers plus the rods.
The cab was at Niagara Hobbies...brand new and the owner has no idea why he ordered it...cost..$ 29.00. The stack, boiler front and plow were found in a hobby shop in Buffalo. I can't remember the name of the place but it was located off the beaten path in a sub-division of small Firms.

The boiler had to be built from scratch and most of the tender.
It was a labour of love..so I thought you might enjoy seeing it.

She's a nice looking locomotive. There's a nice article about her here:
