While speaking with Lionel today about LCCA business at the close of our conversation i asked a few questions about some of the new product. Lionel was quick to respond with there are plenty of new products about to be announced within the next few weeks. this is just a drop in the bucket. lionel did mention there will be some improvements made on many of the products (one being the trolly will no longer have the slide shoe but will now have rollers.)
i asked about the christmas story set and the decorating. they said this was the deco the studio supplied and they must honor the studio's request or lionel would not be able to put the set into production, plus LIONEL must pay them a royalty. that was one reason why the set was so expensive. lionel also said they were finishing up the catalogs by next week. that does not mean they will be released next week i was told but on the other hand who knows!
just a little mention of what i received today

Lou,
So will this be there 2010 catalogue? Or an extension to the 2009 product line?
Any hints on what will be anounced?

Mike, do you have the earlier remake of the trolley, 8690, orange and blue, Lionel Lines, from 1986? It is pulmor powered and die cast, just like the postwar version.

That would be nice and yes I would go for one myself. I don't think they will go back to the pull-mor on all the trolleys but hopefully all the trolleys will have roller pickups with a can motor. I could live with that. I don't think Lionel should have ever got away from the roller pickups but I'm sure that was a cost saving move. Their is too much competition out there not to build a better trolley. Smile

Geesh....   I won one of these on an   Internet auction     (... umm,   because it had the Lionel Lines name and colors),
and never thought what type of motor it might have.

I haven't had a chance to run it, yet.

I just looked...     and it does have a Pullmor motor.   (... no wonder it's so heavy).   And it does have pickup rollers.

Boy, did I get   a bargain!!

Thanks for the heads up !!!   Big Grin
