Hey guys, me again. I bought a GG1 PWCC set when it first came out (see my post on the switch problem) and today decided the extra Sager Place coach would look good with it. So I search for it on ebay and the first result is.... $180!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Eek What the heck!?!? The rest weren't much better; $120, $130, $140 etc. What's going on here? The original MSRP was $64.99, and that was even a little high. If the market value of these sets is already shooting through the roof, what's going to happen with the new Santa Fe F3s? Are we looking at the $1000s price range after they are released? What's your input?

Someone here is selling the engine from that set for 200.00. Doesn't seem way over the top to me.

You might want to change the title to skyrocketing value of post war conventional classic sager place car.

Appears to be in demand. The sets themselves were/are excellent sellers but no price appreciation has been evident.

I noticed since the new releases are an emotional buy; 'gots to have', seems prices have been creeping up a bit. But on the norm I think they have basically stayed the same. Add on cars always seem to be in short supply, so I bet they will always command a slightly higher price.

It will take time but in 2 or 3 years they will be under $80 again.

That is the way of the hobby to be sure.
