Play the lottery-you'll do better with those odds. Many yearrs ago when dick Maddox was the president, shipping schedule was accurate and the product was produced on time and shipped accordingly and/or ahead of schedule. Don't know what the issue(s) are but product, for the most part, has not been shipped on schedule. Ted Bertiger Ocean County Society of Model Railroaders Lakewood, N.J. www.ocsmr.org

I really think it just depends on the item ordered. I got the AEC Nuclear Reactor and the Hogwarts add on set on time. The AEC unit was delayed two months, but then the schedule was updated and accurate. My LHS told me that it has been on time for the last 6 months or so.
I know that I have been having too much fun with my Lionel trains when I see real life railroad tracks and wonder why the middle rail is missing.

I would guess that Lionel or any importer would not ship a partial container of freight. They might of had to sit on a container for a few weeks to fill it up.

Lionel's been hitting the mark with certain things, e.g., accessories and rolling stock. Engines and sets...a different story. You know something...they should just get rid of the shipping schedule...it serves no purpose. I used to think it would help me sort out purchases, saving for the arrival of the sets and/or engines...that doesn't work because they're arbitrary at best. Year after year, I end up just saying, "Gee... I hope it gets here for Christmas."
C'mon Lionel or MTH...Milwaukee Road 261!

I think this schedule thing is one of the big reasons why Lionel wonts to bring production home. I know when it comes to ordering an item for four to five hundred bucks coughing up the dough is not that big of a deal. But when six items come in at once paying out three grand is a lot harder. Even though I save for it and the money is in the credit union I hate to shell all that out at one time. I guess I'm just a little cheap!
