Has at least three center rollers, with a polyswitch between the trucks (or sections).

Has built in surge suppression.

Runs on DC, 50 Hz, and 60 Hz.

Has flywheels on the motors.

Uses a bridge rectifier followed by a big cap to carry over dead spots (even though it has three or more center rollers).

Does not use triacs in its electronics, uses MOSFETs.

Uses golden white LEDs, not bluish.

Has electrocouplers that open ONLY when you want them to.

Has a way to open the couplers with the power off.

Has couplers that do not require you to slam the train to get them closed.

Starts in neutral if it does not detect the command control signal.

Has speed control in conventional mode.

Has a sound system that does not grate on your nerves after running for a few hours.

I'd like to be able to open it, put a hot dog and a bun in it, and have it steam them while I'm running the engine.

All of the above are great suggestions but i'd like to add one more. That being the ability to mount a Lionel style coupler to the front of all steam engines so you could double or triple head without having to use paper clips to wire the engines together which looks stupid.
