Hi everyone, Yes it is finally here, at least the traditional crossbuck version.
See photos i just took tonite. I Added some platforms made from standard 1x3 wooden stock. This shed is unpainted at this time, not sure what color as yet, any requests out there? This baby is real easy to put together.

Notice that i am using a 6 track layout at this time, but it can be used for almost any size layout including 3 tracks with the cutoff versions.

I am in the process of making the intial tin plate version and will display it soon.

We are looking at a selling price of about $119.00 for the unfinished unpainted versions.

Jim...just like the preview photos you sent me a few days ago, these are fantastic. The shed looks great....and will look even better with two or three or four or.....oh well,...several back to back to increase the length.

Thanks,
Alan

That's not fair. You're comparing an unfinished O size to a painted and finished, two and half time as large, Standard size.

sorry but I don't see this as being 2 1/2 Times as large Roll Eyes. Oh and they are all sold out anyway.

Actually the larger model that Jim offers in its standard option, is priced at $169.00...not $300.00. Its a bargain and that is why I purchased three units. That model was intended to target tinplate standard gauge folks but it is every bit appropriate as a large O-scale model. Jim developed this smaller version because many of you indicated the lack of space for the larger rendition. I have seen the shed that "prrhorseshoecurve" posted above and IMHO Jim's are more attractive detail wise and are easily expandable to any length required. Whether you spend $119.00 on the smaller version or $169.00 on the larger version, you will be getting a wonderful, attention getting model for your layout. For passenger train nuts like me, it is a must have!! Big Grin

Thanks,
Alan

Umm...     because it will be "tinplate" (... i.e. made of metal) ?         Just a guess, mind you.

Hmmm...     this looks suitable (... though prrhorseshoecurve's version appears more appropriate) for
a     Hogwarts Express     / Shakespeare Express platform.

Perhaps the next version?   Smile

Regardless, it's an extremely well done accessory to be admired on anyone's layout!

Collecthem...it is called the "tinplate" version because the overall look of the design resembles a more toylike appearance which many feel fits in well with the pre-war toy trains. All of the sheds are made of wood.

Ben...it is a kit and by the way, it goes together in a few minutes if you just want to dry-fit it. The parts are so accurate that one can get by without gluing the parts but it is recommended to do so.

Hi everyone. Ive had several questions from forum members and others relating to pricing, availability, mounting of multiple units, and others.

Pricing at this time is $119.00 for a unfinished unpainted kit, $169.00 for a finished kit, and $219.00 for a complete painted kit. All kits are very easy to assemble as i give you complete detailed instructions. This pricing is for the conventional design only at this time in that we are in the process of making the tin plate protrotype. Once this prototype is made we will determine pricing even though my gut tells nme it will be the same as the conventional version, time will tell. Cutoff versions will most likely be the same price, posibly slighty less.

I plan to have full details about this new shed on my website about sept 1st.

Availabilty of the new shed in the conventional version is about 2-3 weeks from order placement.

These units are designed to be mounted next to each other end to end. Ive had some buyers of the original 48 inch shed buy as many as 4-6 sheds, obviously these guys have very large layouts.

Internal low voltage lighting and platforms are available options.

Watch for information and pictures of these new train sheds in an upcoming issue of one of the model train magazines new products section.

I have added two more pictures to thread to assistin the details.

thanks everyone for your assistance to this project.
see you in YORK.
