I have to travel to Erie PA later this week for a medical meeting and will have a couple of free evenings. Anyone aware of any train attractions (besides the GE plant of course!) in the area?

Thanks!

Past the GE plant, lake side of Rt.20, heading towards Northest, PA.
Be sure to check store hours.

Yeah, Mitch at the train shop is the last shop in town. Great selection though. If you dont see it, just ask. He is open to 6pm every day.

Give him a call just to make sure of the hours.

A few years back I was passing through Erie, Pa and stumbled on a Depot that was being rebuilt. A couple of guys were working around and stopped to chat with us. He had real trains parked all around. A little Joe, a bunch of passenger cars, some freight, etc. He had some (1" alum?) rail being installed for a ride on and it seemed like something maybe inside? The CSX mainlines were right there and maybe a couple factories that were viewed from behind? Anybody know about this? Is it finished? Joe

Enginear-Joe,
Sounds like the station in Northeast, PA that I had mentioned. Especially since you saw the Little Joe and the small gauge track under construction. Did you notice the "tank engine"?
Welch's Juice was one of the places across the tracks - your in grape country up there.

Check out Meadville, the western new york and pennsylvania? railroad has some great old Alco motive power. There is a restored Erie bay window caboose in the park. Meadville has one hobby shop but it does not have many trains. Shoot up to buffalo NY and Niagra hobbies. Greenville Pa. has a rail museum B&LE items steam engine, ore car, caboose.
