It seems obvious to me that Lionel is remaking itself in the image created by Neil Young and Jerry Calabrese and they are doing a much better job than I thought they would. It is time for me to congratulate Jerry Calabrese for his vision in creating the Lionel Classics. This is exactly what I hoped they would do. I'm going to eat crow publicly and say I am extremely happy to be so wrong.

After discussing the newly announced Classics line with Kirk of Just Trains I am convinced Lionel will be overwhelmed by the demand and that these items will be in short supply when they ship. I have ordered the entire catalogue and I am ecstatic that I will have the trains and boxes I have coveted for so long.

The Post War items that will be reissued will arrive with the original packaging and will look wonderful on my shelves. Sure, they will run every once in a while, but I will finally have the "Gandma's Attic" find that I always dreamed of. The price are so attractive that I don't see how any Lionelophile could possibly resist. I firmly believe many will be amazed at the enormous reaction to these trains. We all began this way and now they're back. I'm still a Legacy scale train nut....... but now I can have both loves.

Jerry Calabrese and Neil Young.......many thanks.

Looking forward to it, Eliot! I haven't had a chance to get out at all - I am still running my Colorado pics through Aperture!
