Hi,
I have a small 6'6"long X 31" wide oval layout. I am using MTH Real Track & 031 curves. I also have two Left hand MTH 031 switches(40-1005), positioned on the opposite side corners on the oval. This way the train can cut across.
The problem I am having is:
I loose power on the opposite side of the track where the second switch is located, after the engine passes that second switch.
Then as the engine exits the first switch again, the second regains its power.
I am explaning this as best I can.
Does anyone have a solution for this problem?
Thank you Jim V

Make sure the center rail pins(connectors)on the switches are metal and not plastic

Pull up the switch and the section of track that's dead as a connected pair. Look at the metal spring contacts under the piece where it is joined to the switch. Sometimes while connecting they will spring past each other. Then you get no contact. I use a pair of needle nose pliers to reset them. Or you can disconnect and re-connect while watching them to make sure they contact. Then I put a clip on to prevent that joint from separating.
