We rode with this car before York. The video wasn't mine but it is interesting. Enjoy.

Neat. I would love to make or get a model of this one.

Nice video!
Does anyone know if this car runs on Diesel or Gas? member: TCA |

When I first saw it and then the engineer confirmed it. It was a coach that was motorized. I think a 19th century combine and put round ends on it. Then use the Bachmann under floor drive they are using for the new Peter Witt trolley. This car and the Mack Railbus are on the my list of a 1000 things to do.

They're pretty good about letting passengers ride up with the Engineer whenever they run the gas-electric. I've done it a few times and it adds a lot to the experience although the cab at the motor end of the car gets a bit toasty in the warm weather. Mr. Sellers has been the assigned Engineer whenever we have ridden the 10. As can be seen in the video, riding with him is both fun and informative.

One can only wonder if more widespread use of these types of economical pssenger cars would have saved many railroads from bankruptcy. This type of car allows for minimal fuel and labor costs and can do the job. I just wonder why long passenger trains were run on routes for years with few passengers and lots of red ink.
