Jaabat,

Two great photos! Love the gentle rise up on the road up to the tracks, the stone wall, and the subtle weathering on the pickup truck. BTW, what brand is the truck...Athearn?

Good work!

Thank you, Frank, Paul, and Neal. These photos were taken several months ago when this area of the layout was still under reconstruction.

The pick up truck is a cheapo $2.00 special from Walmart. I just threw a little detailing and age on it.

I had not been too fond of halloween until my freshman years in North America, when getting a costume to go to campus halloween parties was a fun thing to do. We were up all night and still had to show up for classes at 8 a.m., the next day, to listen to a Prof. who looked at best.like a halloween clown, talking senselessly about DNA... Still stunned from the parties, we were all yawning and looking for our own DNA.. in the textbook that is Eek

Anyway I have always loved clowns and remember fondly putting on a red nose for someone special on a train platform on Halloween to surprise that person...

Anyway here is my contribution to this thread.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!

As usual thanks for the great photos! Prairie

Be careful, he might very well be on that circus train in link right after...

Fall is here and I've re-entered the mancave to continue work on my booming metropolis.

Thanks to the guys in the subway section for mentioning the Lemax subway entrances and bus stops. I grabbed a few. Great price and the scale is almost right on. A cool way to add something different. Thanks!!

I know that I have been having too much fun with my Lionel trains when I see real life railroad tracks and wonder why the middle rail is missing.

Mike,
Great shot of the BNSF coming out of the curve in Lemont! Do you know if there is a walkway over the bridge(Lemont Rd.)? I think that would be a excellent place to get a photo of the train as it crosses the river?

My wife Debbie and I took a weekend vacation trip to Charleston SC last weekend. Since we missed the opportunity to see Disney's A Christmas Carol Train Tour in Spencer NC, we were able to catch up with it in Charleston SC. The train was brought into Ansonborough Field (downtown Charleston) by a South Carolina Public Railway switcher. One of the crew said it was a railroad regulation in that area. Enjoy the tour.

Frank,

Yes there is a protected sidewalk on the east side of lemont road. That would make a great picture. I know there is a protective chain link fence on the bridge but I cannot remember how far north it runs. You would need a pretty decent lens to catch that shot.

The picture above was taken from a newly constructed parking garage attached to a large condo building monstrosity. It is 4 stories and offers some decent views of the westbound trains especially.
