I was just looking through some old papers and came accross something from Choo Choo Land in Baldwin, LI, NY? Does anybody remember the store? I spent quite a bit of my time there during my high school years in the late 70's/early 80's. I also remember buying some nice pieces with money earned from delivering the NY Daily News.
All the best, Mike

Hi Charlie, for a long time they were on Merrick Road, not too far from Grand Ave. and then sometime in the late 80's moved further west. If I remember, the owner Pete moved to Florida around that time.

Hi Mike,
I remember Choo Choo Land, it was up the block from a Health Food Store I had in Baldwin. Pete then moved to Oceanside on the west bound side of Merrick Rd.
I bought a set of 3 Madison Cars for $45 because they were repainted.Pete was a nice guy,I think he drove an oil delivery truck in the day. I never knew what happened to him, one day I went to the store and it was closed and empty.

I went there at least once and I can still remember what I purchased. The owner was really nice, and I thought it was really cool to name a store choo-choo land, if that's the same one you folks are talking about.

I still have paper work from trains I bought there. I would ride there on my bicycle from Bellerose ,Queens.
There was a guy who worked there that use to work in Trainland before it changed owners. He always treated me good.

No Pete went out in Baldwin. The store in Oceanside was John Chavats first store. He moved to Rockville Center and is still there. He worked at Trainland when George and Helen owned it.
