I am going to model a turn of the century western town. I have some old time building but I cannot find a vendor that ever made a brothel... has anyone ever seen one?

While on the subject, I am looking for some figures (women of ill-repute) to go with the building.

I would imagine that a hotel of the period would work as a house of ill repute.

Peanut, a company called Trout Creek Structures made or maybe still makes a "Red light district". They are a set of five small one room cabins that might work well for you. I think they were also sold as lumber worker cabins. I got my set on E-bay, they show up every so often. Also Artista makes some women of ill-repute. Don

Peanut- another site for you to obtain Figures is as stated www.Scalefigures.com and at scenic express you want the soiled doves, average americans and typicals ( afterall the girls have to have Johns!). Also check out m and m scalestructures, they have custom built adult theaters. bookstores etc in O scale. On the Bellevue and Schenectady RR I have Betty Bossom's Bed and Breakfast, Club Crystal, The Gentleman's Den Bookstore, Beulah's House of enchantment, the Cole Hotel and the Triple XXX Hotel and club, each one in a different City on the RR. Its Reality and fun and great conversation pieces, you will get laughs, snickers and sneers.- Happy Railroading !-Don Klose

I'm using "Zang's" Hotel from MTH for the theme you described above. Weathered up the building and added figures from Scenic Express. Looks great!

Actualy, the BEST LITTLE...was in a farmhouse east of LaGrange Texas, near the TX 71 overpass over the old MKT line.

Place got its name from the depression era. Men paid for favors with live chickens instead of cash. Ladies grew the chickens. Hence the name.

Now, if you want to model the same situation in Galveston Texas, there were some storefronts near 25th/Rosenberg on Postoffice (here ONE word) which had slect male activity,

Best to do some history before modeling.

...and prostitution was (is?) legal in NV.

I'm surprised the bluenoses haven't jumped all over this yet. Anyway, check out the Scenic Express catalog. They have a picture of Wicked Wanda's, complete with soiled doves and customers. Should give you some ideas. Wink

Since 1/4" to the foot is a popular architectural modeling scale, there are quite a few companies that sell furniture for the architects. Beds, heads, bureaus, all the stuff you'll need to deck out the environment. A web-search and a phonecall will get you packets of furniture for your shimmy palace.
