Anyone ever use these or have any knowledge of them. I am starting to put some passenger figures into my RK passenger cars. I have read the other discussions on this but did not see these mentioned. Thanks in advance for the advice.

They are listed on ebay. They indicate that they ship from Hong Kong. The item listed is as the title of the discussion: 100 x O Scale 1:50 Painted Passenger Figures 11 Poses. The sellers name is "thestylehome". Not sure what else I could provide other than a link but seller has multiple listings for these passenger figures.

I purchased some a few months ago and they are just okay. They are not as detailed and were painted using horrid colors but they were cheap and can easily be repainted. I plan on blending them in with my other better figures, the women seem to be proportioned better than the men but they will blend in just fine.

These figures are cheap but..... they look like they were painted with a mop, the colors are vibrant and the poses are limited. You may want to do a double order to obtain enough seated figures and be prepared to repaint the ones you want to use. For the price they are a fair deal.

'T': you mention using them in your RK passenger cars. They may be cheap but if only 4 in a packet are sitting you're going to need a lot of packets! I think there are better choices for seated figures.

I think these are copies of Preisner figures. Preisner does much better on their paint jobs, but they are much pricier.

How much did shipping cost from Hong Kong and how long did it take to arrive?

Joe:

I had some of these figures - I specifically recognize the poses. These are significantly smaller than Arttista or Preiser figures.

There was a very informative thread on this same subject a while back in the scenery section. Do a search on figures or people.

You can also break some legs to get what you want. Wink

I found that these figures were fine when you needed a mob full of people and detail was not a big concern. I used them in some of my subway cars and had to break a lot of legs in order to get enough seated people. If you don't have the patience I would recommend other figure sets.

For the price of these they are pretty effective. They ship from Hong Kong faster than I can get something from Chicago. we repainted many of these because of the funky colors . We use them in backgounds like stations and city streets to fill in I believe we have about 1500 of these on the layout Here are some pics.

here is Carol with boxes of repaints placing them in the passenger terminal

TheBigT,

You can buy a card full of all sitting figures at your local hobby shop. Mine were K-Line and I think the package contained 30 figures. More than one Mfr. carries them. I got mine a Wild Bill's in Michigan.

Is it me, or do some of the figures look like they need to go 'powder their noses'?

Like Dennis, I also used the K-line seated passengers. I am just now getting around to putting them in my RailKing Budd RDC cars. I test fit them and they will be fine. They are very flexible so, you can cram them in tight areas if needed.

If you are interested in them, they are #6-21376 and there are 40 seated figures. I think they were $19. Each color combination is repeated three times. You could paint them also.

I also used 100 of those figures, but not for passenger cars. In my Rail King Overtons, I used MTH unpainted figures, about $25 for a bag of 100. In my streamliners, I used K-Line in the lower level, the MTH in the upper.

The ebay figures look good mixed in with other cheap figures such as Model Power and old K-Line.

The bottom row below shows how they compare to the originals when repainted.

I bought a set of the unpainted ones. Pretty good detail, but as others said, a little on the small side. Better suited for S scale.

I can vouch that the speed of delivery is very reasonable (faster than some other things I've ordered from HK). And repainting/touching them up is good practice.

They're far from perfect but for the price, they're great for inside cars, inside buildings, distant scenes...

I use these figures and the 1:50 size are too large for the interior of 027 Rail King passenger cars. The "S" scale size works for the inside of passenger cars, and they look good. I cut the legs off of sitting figures, and I put several figures in aisles.

The 1:50 figures are ideal for exterior scenes where a crowd is necessary, as on the station platform of a commuter railroad.

Buy the painted figures.

Carol is one of our female members of the club. Very convenient to have somebody that can crawl on the layout. Us fat guys have a hard time doing that. I paid 44.00 for 500 of these people You can't get anything cheaper than that. They were delivered in a couple of days for the price it would ship to the next state. They aren't the prettiest people but when you have to fill up a space with people they are very cost effective

If you are using them for passengers don't think twice and use them! I used "Beep People" personally and think they look great but unless you have someone looking into your cars from about 2" away just about any figures will look fine.

I bought these and cut some of them from the waist down to use for sitting figures. You can't see the legs anyway when they are sitting, just hack them off and glue them down.Cut them at different heights so they are not all even.
