Just a couple of pics of my new Florida East Coast SD70M-2 in the new red white and blue paint scheme. This unit was only available as part of the Twin-Stack set. MTH correctly placed the head ligts on the nose of this unit. The first order of FEC SD70M-2s in the blue and yellow scheme had the headlights on the cab. Rear ditch lights, don't know if the prototype had them Conductors side With its older sister Twin-Stack unit Pulling its train

Great pics, but I still like the blue and yellow paint better

A note on the prototype; this was the correct paint scheme for this unit in September, 2008 when MTH was planning this model. http://railpictures.net/viewph...hp?id=273442&nseq=16 When Rail America decided to re-letter these units to Florida East Coast, they also repainted the under-body black as they are today. http://railpictures.net/viewph...hp?id=263511&nseq=33

Great pics of a beautiful engine. Nice to see the headlight in the nose....maybe a run of BNSF with the nose headlight will be announced.

Thanks

Interesting, I noticed the horns are placed more forward on the FEC 106.

pennsy4ever; The set is number 20-2978-1 @ 699.95. set Matt; the rear ditch lights appear to be wired to the same circuit as the front ditch lights. They work simultaneously. The only problem is when the engine is run in reverse, both sets of ditch lights go off.

Nice model, but I am also uninspired by this one. I like the yellow and blue much better. I'm glad that I got them.
