Some of You may know that I'm a heavy "YouTube" guy. Anyway, I got the saddest "InBox" message today about a beautiful little boy named "Austin".

His Dad took a moment and wrote me saying: Austin watches Train videos ... (some mine) and that it makes Him smile. (Austins nuts about Trains)

But right now, Austin's having a hard time as He's just had a Bone Marrow Transplant.

Please can some of You click on the link below and let this little boy, (along with his Mom & Dad) know that WE support Him?

*This kind of thing pains my heart no end, and on those "bad days" Mom and Dad have ... "A little word of encouragement can really help"!

THANK'S everyone, Tom

It is said that life isn't fair but no one promised us that it would be. A message such as you've received holds with it great sadness but it is good to reach out to others in time of need. By having a You Tube video on trains that this child has enjoyed, you have certainly done something positive.
When I hear of children, the elderly and the poor suffering it affects me as well but as a person of faith I do what I can and simply pray that the good Lord will answer our prayers.

Hi Thom, Austin seems like he is in wonder land and I hope all of Gods blessings on him and his family.

I was going to suggest that we get him a set until I saw his video, it looks like his parents already took care of that. Wink

Maybe we can make him our youngest member. Cool

Since he likes watching videos maybe we can put together a nice long DVD of all trains action videos from folk's layouts on the forum and send it to him. A 3 hour video with accessories, diesel, and steam action could be watched over and over.

That's a fantastic idea Greg. My first question will be, how do I get a copy? Wink

Thanks for your posting awareness about Austin. We are always looking for prayer warriors. Hope you enjoyed Austins website. We've been updating that site since he was first diagnosed in 2006. Austin had his transplant in Dec. 2008 last year. We spent 5 months in Durham NC at Duke hospital. Its about 4 1/2 hours from our home. We had to get a apartment to live in and basically move our life for that time. Of course we did take some track, and 2 trains for Austin to play with. Our families worked on his train room while we were away. We have a bonus room over our garage and that is where his layout is. It has basically taken over the entire bonus room. Now we plan on going up with it..Haha!

Christmas this year will be very special for us. We want to make it special for Austin. He had to spend his christmas in the hospital last year and we had to play Santa there. We didn't get to spend the holidays with our extended family. It was kind of sad but happy too. This year we are trying to work on making this christmas special. Austin's new life began Dec. 9th. We will always consider that his 2nd birthday.

Please let your friends know that we have enjoyed seeing all the video's and sweet comments. We posted a new video on you tube just for you...Austin is in the middle hole of the layout.

Have a great Day!!

Great idea. My issues of OGR get tossed out a week or two after I read them. The are still in great shape when they go to recycling. I'd be glad to send my OGR issue to Austin if we had the address. This little boy would probably appreciate looking at the pictures. I am still praying for this child to get well.

Maybe we can send some train video's we don't watch. Does he like model train video's or real trains or both?

I'm pulling for the little guy and his family. Smile

Thom, if you will email me a shipping address, I'll send Austin a couple of our OGR/Hopewell DVD's. You can email me at: publisher@ogaugerr.com.

I have a real soft spot in my heart for kids...especially kids who have to fight this kind of a battle so early in their lives.

It takes a story like this to make one sit back and truly enjoy life and thank GOD for your health and what you have. Many are less fortunate. GOD Bless Austin and his family , and to you Thom for bringing this story to light

This really makes you sit back and take notice, that no matter how bad a day you are having, someone out there is really having a bad day and needs help and support.
You guys are the best...God Bless you all.
Austin will be in my thoughts and prayers.
