My wife had some fun taking pictures of the un-cageing of the Brute. It's on Facebook here is the link.
http://www.facebook.com/album....5480223&l=e302915add The size of this did cause a few issues. Scott Smith This message has been edited. Last edited by: scott.smith, |

Nice buy Scott, does that really weigh 45 pounds?

UPS listed the shipping weight on the package as 53 pounds. Scott Smith |

Scott,
Does this mean you are going to Disney World AND Disney Land this year? Mike Floetker |

Scott, very impressive size to that brute. I had not been paying attention to when these were due out. Yours is the first one I have seen. Thanks for the pictures.

The only thing missing from those pictures are the Christmas tree and colorful wrapping paper crumpled up on the floor.
The remind me so much of the pictures of me and my brother taken on various long-ago Christmas mornings... Andy TCA, LRRC, LCCA, Atlas Golden Spike, MTHRRC - "Diesels represent the job, steam represents the adventure!" |

Congrats on your purchase!!
It is more like uncaging the Brute. Looks like it was packaged well. |

Looks like your Brute encountered a clearance issue on the upper level with the shelving support brackets.

Scott,
While the Brute is extremely gorgeous, I was distracted as I looked at the pictures. NO HAT!! Bill |

I think his wife made him sell the hat so he could get the engine. Now instead of looking silly and ready for Looney Tunes he looks like a serious collector of vintage tinplate!

LOL! |

Great looking engine. Thanks for posting all the pics.

Wow Scott! Neat.
It looks like it is going to crush your bridges!!! |

It not that difficult to put on the rails. It is difficult to pick up without scratching the paint.

Congratulations Scott! Thanks for sharing the pictures. I'm just amazed at how massive that engine (motor?, locomotive?) is.

NOW I know why you chose to post your Brute pics.

Neat pictures! I didn't recognize you without the hat though.
Congratulations on the early Christmas. |

Very nice story, didn't know who or what was the bigger antagonist, the shelf or the wife.
|
||||

Wow, it did not feel that heavy when i was packing it up. You may need to strengthen your layout to hold the weight. ha ha.

Scott:
Thanks for posting the pictures of the Brute. Congratulations on your purchase, good luck with this fine looking engine. Looks like your wife gave this purchase her blessing. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Passenger Train Collector, |

The commentary put a smile on my face.
Nice engine. |

Mental note to self - take engines out of box after wife goes to bed.

Very cool. Looks like a beautiful locomotive and lots of fun. Thanks for posting. It does appear that a trainroom expansion should soon be a consideration. That Brute looks like it needs more room to be able to really stretch its legs! Bill B.

Scott's layout was big enough to handle the ACELA |

THANKS Scott and Kathy for sharing!
The MTH Brute is definitely THE standard gauge engine of this century, hands down, NO contest! Unless a standard gauge big boy is in the works, the Brute will retain the crown! Art Poole |

What a wonderful engine. Did you have one of those weight lifting belts on when moving it around? What is GVW of a Brute.

That would be IMPRESSIVE!!! |

I am tempted to get the M10000 when it comes out in December due to my home location.
