My wife had some fun taking pictures of the un-cageing of the Brute. It's on Facebook here is the link.

The size of this did cause a few issues.

Scott, very impressive size to that brute. I had not been paying attention to when these were due out. Yours is the first one I have seen. Thanks for the pictures.

The only thing missing from those pictures are the Christmas tree and colorful wrapping paper crumpled up on the floor. Wink

The remind me so much of the pictures of me and my brother taken on various long-ago Christmas mornings...

Looks like your Brute encountered a clearance issue on the upper level with the shelving support brackets. Big Grin

I think his wife made him sell the hat so he could get the engine. Now instead of looking silly and ready for Looney Tunes he looks like a serious collector of vintage tinplate! Smile

It not that difficult to put on the rails. It is difficult to pick up without scratching the paint.

Congratulations Scott! Thanks for sharing the pictures. I'm just amazed at how massive that engine (motor?, locomotive?) is.

Wow, it did not feel that heavy when i was packing it up. You may need to strengthen your layout to hold the weight. ha ha.

Very cool. Looks like a beautiful locomotive and lots of fun. Thanks for posting. It does appear that a trainroom expansion should soon be a consideration. That Brute looks like it needs more room to be able to really stretch its legs! Bill B. Big Grin

THANKS Scott and Kathy for sharing! Smile

The MTH Brute is definitely THE standard gauge engine of this century, hands down, NO contest! Big Grin

Unless a standard gauge big boy is in the works, the Brute will retain the crown! Wink

What a wonderful engine. Did you have one of those weight lifting belts on when moving it around? What is GVW of a Brute.
