I searched for threads about Bullfrog Snot but could not find any. I bought some and tried it on an engine that has difficulty climbing an upgrade. I probably did not apply it properly because it raised the wheels too high causing the rollers to lose contact with the track. Other than it being a bit expensive, and having a weird name, Id like to hear other opinions.

Most likely you did apply it correctly. This is marketed to the 2-rail crowd so there wouldn't be any issues with the pick-up rollers. If you post over there you might get some more responses.

Not sure how you applied it but there should only be a thin layer applied. I'd say not more than 1/32 of an inch. Most 3 rail rollers I've come across are sprung and would easily make up for the 1/32.
