There are limits on making ink jet decals to be applied to a black surface. Ink jet paper comes two ways, clear backing and with white ink screen printed across the entire sheet. Using the clear paper on a black surface the decal will just about disappear (like D&RGW orange on a black loco) so you have to use the white paper but then you have to cut the decal exactly on the image or print the body color as a surround. A long article could be written about home made decals. Add to this the need to use a vector program and there is more info to cover. It can be done our Scott Smith does it....but its more than type and print. I worked in the decal biz for 15 years and still freelance art. If you still want to try look up Bel decal paper.

Walthers is having a sale on Testors decal film right now. They offer kits with white, clear, and both films a plus bonder solution for 8 bucks. Anyone try the Testor's product yet? My previous experience with inkjet and laser printing on decal film has been dismal.

Our local HobbyTown USA carries decal paper. You may want to check your local hobby store.
