"The Balancing Act" on Lifetime TV did a bathroom make over show at our house. I was the comic relief part of the show. While my wife and the host worked I played with my trains. Anyway you can see some of my layout on the show. http://www.thebalancingact.com..._segment.php?id=1032
It was a win, win deal, they hired our production company to film the show.

We need a whole show on his layout! Expand it to full screen and then you can rewind and pause the train part!

Thanks for sharing that bit.
By the way, a dark brown or black skirting on the bottom of your layout will really make the layout stand out and pop. Razz
Who knew you could get great advice from a bathroom make-over show!

That is so cool! Thanks

I'm sending the link to my wife so she'll believe me when I tell her she can re-decorate her bathroom without putting me through hoops.

Nice layout and bathroom.

I might have made a mistake by showing it to my wife. She doesn't like the bathroom color in the house that we bought recently.

Well Roger, from the video it appears the remedy to that is to have her paint it while you run the railroad!

WOW!!! What a great level of understanding and relationship. Wife says, "I don't think so, he's in the train room." This is total clarity and wisdom.

How did you do that?!?!?!?!?

Congratulations. Can't beat playing with trains while your wife paints the bathroom.
I showed the video to my wife and she assured me that that's not going to happen at our house. Roll Eyes

Wow, I'm waiting for some info on that cat picture. I thought they don't like water. I see that I was wrong. It looks like they don't like soundmen! Uh,ohh, that's me too! Joe

Hi Joe, Tigers love water, most cats don't. We have been filming these cats for year. Their trainer and I were in the cage with this cat's grandmother when she was born. The film is really something to see. It was amazing that she wasn't bothered by us being in the small cage with her when she gave birth to four tiny cubs. Thanks Don

The reason my wife is so understanding about my railroad is her Dad worked for Southern Pacific most of his life. It helps to marry a railroad gal. Don

Don:

You have opened a whole new career opportunity for yourself, wife training for the model railroad enthusiast. Just kidding. Very nice feature and I wish we had seen more of your layout.

Lovely home, lovely (and handy) spouse, varied and interesting career, and trains to play with on a great layout. Life doesn't get much better than that, does it, Don?

Now get working on getting that layout in our magazine! Wink

Sounds like a good plan to me, Don! Always great to see your work--videos of the real thing and the 1:48 stuff on that excellent layout.

Tell your wife that's one first class reading room she created for you! Smile

Don:

I will be sipping a beer shortly, and munching on a bowl of popcorn. Fireworks are not part of my holiday celebrations here since I have a dog who is not at all fond of fireworks and other sharp noises (thunder, for example). She sticks to me like glue whenever she hears fireworks and has been a bit of a nervous wreck for the past two days. Fortunately, she's not the size of that cat you're playing with in that photo.
