I've seen them on EBay in the past few weeks. Search for
'MTH Trolley'.

I think you're talking about MTH #30-2586-1, Pittsburgh Super Steelers "Terrible Trolley" PCC. It's available through (3) dealers, per the MTH dealer locator. MSRP is $249.95. It's not a widely available item, but you could see how prices vary from the (3) dealers stocking it.

If it is the PCC streetcar 30-2586-1 it is called the terrible trolley. MTH shows these three dealers have it:
CT MC CORMICK HARDWARE ZELIENOPLE PA 16063
VALLEY FARM MARKET WEEDVILLE PA 15868
IMPERIAL TRAINS IMPERIAL PA 15126

Steve we were typing at the same time. Smile

danssupuerO- you may also want to call jim's train shop. Even if it's not listed on his site, he carries a lot of Steelers stuff.

Good luck. It is a very neat looking streetcar.

Daniel: I don’t have that one either but there’s also the MTH Railking #30-2581 Pittsburgh Steelers Bump-n-go Trolley that listed for only $70. I got mine from Jim's in Homer City a few years ago. It would look great on your Pittsburgh layout and it will run on a dead-end siding!

I found a streetcar for $250.00 . The layout I have is suppose to be small town that sees the "Big" city from the distance. I hate to change the 60 trolley (with dalle reverse in it).. But everyone seems to like the idea of a Pittsburgh trolley there on top.. The MTH referral pages usually once you call , are sold out, I don't want to pass it up if its rare or no longer in stock or sells for a lot more than $250.00 thanks again ..DANiel

If you're after a MTH Steeler Streetcar PCC car, I know this is a real long shot with a lot of 'ifs'. But here's how it goes:

I picked up a NJT PCC cars at York from RPO Trains at a blowout price of $110 a couple of years ago.
And, I see a 960 KB 'sound' file on the MTH page for the Steeler PCC Streetcar listed as R0UCPP3PCCmyronNFL070209aFIN.MTH. with Myron Cope Sound Set full of Myron's "Copeisms"!
And, if MTH has the Steeler Streetcar shell you want they might swap (at a hefty fee) for another shell from a car you bought.
You could then upload the Steeler Streetcar file; swap the shells and you'd have your MTH Steeler Streetcar.

Tom

P. S. Better yet - I just Googled 30-2586-1 and see that CT Trains has the car listed in stock for a Xmas special price $230 - http://www.cttrains.com/mth1.htm

I belive this was on the Pittsburgh Model Railroad Retailers Cooperative site and you could only buy this from that grout of stores. The retail price was $249.95, and we who Smile live in the Pittsburgh, PA area have lot of store to chose from, 16 stores.

Dan,

Are you using a DCS Control system or just the conventional mode of operation?
In conventional mode you can pick & choose stops by following the instruction in the owner's manual posted on the website for the 30-2586-1 PCC car.
It's a lot easier to program the stops using the DCS Remote. Instructions for doing this are on the MTH DCS web pages.

I can't help regarding your query about getting the car to automatically reverse direction. Although I haven't tried to - I'll bet you can use the DCS Remote Record/Playback feature to do this after (you program the stops).
