I hope I am not bringing up any bad stuff or maybe I missed something. What ever happen to Super O Bob and I believe Artisan? They used to have great threads on "Run what Ya Brung" or Open house nights? I loved to see the pictures of these operating sessions. It's just great to see people getting together and running trains. Occasionally I will get on youtube and rewatch Super O bob's operating sessions. Just wondering

This topic comes up a few times a year. Over the years there have been many great forum members that have just seemed to disappear. It's just a fact of forum life I guess.

As for what happens to other forum participants:

They come and go for a variety of reasons, here as on any other public forum. We gain between 100 and 200 new members each month, on average. We now have 8,709 registered. Some just choose to lurk (which is fine, even though you don't have to be registered to do that); others read for a while then participate more actively (always a pretty good idea); and some elect to participate actively from the get-go (sometimes okay and sometimes not the wisest thing to do).

Don't forget Laz, who was toying with the idea of setting up a layout in a portable storage pod. I suspect the old lady locked him inside with his trains and called for a pickup.

What, me worry?

Artisan burned brightly then flamed out.

Lehigh Valley Chris was a earlier version if Nicky.. He discovered girls and vanished

Les Line vanished about the same time K-Line did

NY was fun to have around when Legacy appeared, but he is off on another project

Lisa still pops into here from time to time

Gil Finn, well he looked at death and fought it to the end

8,709. That's a very deceiving number, if it includes the 8,000 who have ridden off into the sunset.

Down Nicky, I wasn't insulting you. I just said what happened, Chris was a lot like you (Young and enthusuastic)and had a nice ride he was building even after his Grandpa, who he was working with on it, died. But he left when he decided girls were more fun.

Rix, who says we ain't hanging out while I got a laptop next to me? Razz

No seriously though, I would have a job and all that but most of the day I'm home tending to my parents (health matters). It tends to get a bit boring, so the forum cures that. Smile

There was a young man who lived in Hawaii who would post. I haven't seen his post's lately. Maybe school has something to do with it. I wanted to visit him when I went to Hawaii last September.

I do too; I hope you don't see my constant posting that way. Like I said, it's mostly a cure for constant boredom. In addition to having to take care of my parents, the fact that I live in a little old retirement town also adds to the boredom -- there's just nothing to do. The event of the week is either going to a theater or going bowling on Fridays, that's about it.

A funny thing about my grades: My weighted GPA right now is a 4.449. Now my grades are even related to trains! Roll Eyes

This of course is off topic but what ever happened to the old 4.0 is an A scale? Why the need for 4.449? I don't even know if that is good. Is that on a scale of 10? Smile

The weighted GPA takes into account the dual credit and AP classes, so that's why it goes over a 4.0. My UNweighted GPA is a 3.92

When he was in high school, my brother actually managed to hit a 5.0 with his advanced classes Eek

Frank53 has been pretty scarce and I miss the "Yankees Win" thread started last night. Did some one get their panties in a bunch over that? A lot of folks take the train to the stadium so I'd think it would be considered train related.

I can't speak about the first two, but Bearlead just recently put a post in my thread with the photo comparison of the improved RCS turntable bridge. RCS turntable bridge comparison.
I have enjoyed reading his eloquent posts.

PRSLou has grown through high school and now college. He is a contract photographer for us here at OGR and a darned good one at that.

Bearelad, or just "Bear" is retired out in Colorado dabling in real estate and being kept pretty busy. I see him at York, but not on this last trip.

Mattrain I have not kept up with for sometime now.

Norm, what is a "4 hour Halo ODST" mission?
