I have just about reached that point, collecting trains, where I have at least one model of the prototypes that interest me. There is only a finite number of prototypical (real) locomotives for manufacturers to model. My main thing has been diesel-electrics. In the diesel electric category, what prototype locomotive would you like to see the manufacturers model, that has not already been modeled? What current model would you like to see upgraded?

I'd like to see in the Atlas Trainman Line:

SAL GP7
SAL PS2 hopper
SAL Caboose
more items lettered for southern RRs, not just SAL
Great Northern Rolling stock

More undecorated items from all the manufacturers and a fuller line of decals to cover lines that aren't offered in pre-painted/lettered schemes.

Smaller flanges on 3-rail wheels.

Engines that are "Command Control Ready", where the motor is installed, but the electronics package can be chosen by the buyer, whether it's an E-Unit, DCS, TMCC, DCC, or any other type. A simple plug-in device should be all that is needed.

Another thing that could go along with this would be to make all future engines and rolling stock with isolated wheels. There's really no reason not to anymore. With isolated wheels you could even run the "CC Ready" stuff on DC if you choose.

With the 3rd Rail PRR E7's and the Weaver BP20 passenger sharks, I'm probably set for diseasles. Smile I know that the PRR had a lot of diseasles; but with the addition of these two, most of the ones I like I will have.

I started another post about the NH FL-9. The replies indicate that there is interest within the 3 rail community for someone to make this unique engine. You can read the FL-9 comments elsewhere on this forum. Needless to say, the FL-9 is at the top of diesel wish list.

Southern GP38, yes (first ones in 1969), SD40-2 is a little late for me with the first ones being in december 72

I dunno though, a lot of the cooler looking hi-nose roster was in the mid 70s. I might have to readjust my era.

So can I get enough people in O-gauge/O-scale to want to buy a SCL M-5 caboose kit? If so, I'd have a scale version made. I'd go take the measurements of the M-5 out in Spencer, NC myself. The M-5s also had various paint schemes for ACL, SCL, SCL:FL, and CSX.

Scale protocouplers that I could put on existing engines. Fixed pilot versions on all MTH's engines (Conrail SD80). Lionel release some two rail engines. A control panel like rail driver that is digital and can lock onto a command engine or consist. An engine with one of those digital mini cameras already inside that sends/records video. Electric couplers in rolling stock. That command diesel refueling shed with sounds and electric doors like the NJHRs......etc
or just those scale protocouplers. Joe

Guys,

A lot of the diesel requests are of models already built,
but not in your desired paint schemes. It's actually quite
easy to paint and letter a model. I've done dozens of freight
cars and locomotives for my railroad. Even had decals made up
for my road, the Shade Gap & Neelyton.
