Wow! Lionel lg scale, twice as old as the kids. Is the sound in the Pennsy Atlantic still working? Pretty good sounding engine. We've put about 8-10,000 real miles on the one in our shop.

Bob, yes the RS in the Atlantic are still working, as is the smoke. I also added the Lionel LS PRR GP9. I added RS to it also.

When I moved into the house the beautiful large scale layout was there, handlayed, handspiked track, switches, scenery, etc.

Being a Lionel collector/operator I had to populate the layout with PRR Lionel Large Scale. EBay was a prime source. I probably have all the Lionel LS PRR pieces now in addition to the Thomas and James LS sets. The track was true scale so I had to make some adjustments to accomodate the Lionel wheels/flanges.

Two of our seven Grandchildren are enjoying the layout in the pics.

They are anxiously awaiting Pappy's O gauge layout.

Hey John,
Glad to see you are enjoying retirement with the grandkids. You paid your dues to our country. Enjoy those trains but better yet, enjoy those cute kids.
From your former AOL poster-captnkraft.
Take care.
