I have the MTH 2001 Modern Freight Set and have a question about the Hudson locomotive that came with it. It's number is 5320. Here is the picture I took with my digital camera.

I had to place the loc on the track and let it set to recharge the battery because it would not go out of neutral. After the recharge I remembered that the smoke unit should have been turned off. The surprise I got is there was no switch to turn off the smoke. The place was there on the loc but no switch.

The question I have is this the way this particular locomotive was manufactured or was the smoke on/off switch left off? I had added smoke fluid when I discovered this. Looking down the smoke stack I can see what looks like the wick. The loc does not smoke and I am assuming that the smoke unit is in the off mode.

You were right. The switch was in the tender. MTH sure made this one confusing. The switch just said on/off. No other identification.

Thanks for your help.
