Saw this last Sunday and it was very good. Made me want to take a trip on the American Orient Express until I went on their web site and saw the prices. Maybe I'm just a pauper but the costs made me gulp. Seems like the cheapest fare was over $5,000 each. I have no idea how that compares to cruises or other current vacations but it is a little rich for my blood.

At any rate, it was a great show and makes me want to take a train vacation, anywhere and soon.

Right. My wife saw part of this episode and said that AOE train would be nice. I surprised her by saying no it wouldn't. I'd rather stay at home with her and cuddle. Wink

Next year's rates are even higher.

Farmer_Bill. You're up to something. You must have a large train purchase in mind.

I did the Alaska one to Seward, rode in the old budd vista dome most of the way there. I highly recommend it, not a bad price either, compared to the AOE train it is a steal.
What they need is a nice economy train, Flat cars with winnobegas or caboose trains or stock cars for the hobo types.

John, you're my kind of train fan. We don't need no stinkin' luxury coaches! Just a flat car, a comfortable chair, and some cool ones.
