I'd like to see scale remote control couplers on freight cars.
What dreams have you?

Personally, I would prefer SCALE remote controlled couplers on the LOCOMOTIVES, since I already use Kadee couplers on my rolling stock. I would NOT want ALL my freight cars comming un-coupled due to some stupid inadvertant "un-couple" signal!

Diesels without gaps between the trucks and frame.

DCC compatibility.

FM Train Master with full length hand rails and both of the above traits.

How about something in the catalog that tells me a paint scheme on any Premier item is prototypical? I was in a LHS just the other day and I almost bought a MTH box car but changed my mind for two reasons. For the most part I wasn't sure if the paint scheme was prototypical or not and number two it did not look as good as older MTH boxcars I have in the respect it seemed it wasn't painted at all but just molded in color and then had stamped lettering on it. On the plus side the details were definitely improved from older models as it did have add on grab irons.

Jerry, I believe MTH has a model out right now similar to what you have shown above. It is the single sheathed boxcar. I did not see it in the road name you want but there's no reason why they might not do it in the future. Also this car was reviewed in the latest OST.

just make items to the point where they won't ever need to be made again by any other company and that will end all of this "the gap is too big, etc etc" stuff

Hi Dave:

MTH is doing 8 panel outside braced box cars. I have a couple, very nice.

Having somebody do a six panel would give some more variety to our equipment rosters. Weaver catalogs a six panel, but the details are all molded on. Still a nice car, but it would be nice to have one made to the current state of the art.

Regards,
Jerry

Two main things:

1. The option to order Fixed pilot diesels with high rail wheels (so we don't have to order three rail wheels separately).

2. Fixed pilot parts to retrofit 3/2 diesels delivered with swinging pilots.

Hi-Five, Jerry! I've been nagging Atlas to do the 6 panel single-sheathed jobs in the Trainman line, but hey, if MTH wants a crack at it, I'm all for it...

85' scale passenger cars with scale couplers and accurate underbody detailing (elimintate the shroud)

72' accurate CNJ steel coaches with trucks that at least have the right number of wheels. It's a start!

I'd like an X23, Martin, but I'm gonna bet that it's not on MTH's radar...probably a job for a resin kit maker like Rails Unlimited or Saint Charles?

Maybe...resin....maybe. Westerfield made them in HO with all of the variations, etc. Not sure what kind of price resin kits would command vs RTR cars from MTH, but I'd wager it would be higher with lower sales numbers.

But, consider it's a PRR car that's as far as I know only been available in brass (as well as all of the NX-23 variations including the work car varsions), and some were lettered for LIRR, CVRR and at least one other PRR subsidiary. The X-23 was also available as an Ambroid kit and those are still floating around. The brass stuff might as well be made from gold....

Lastly, the record is pretty clear that there's a good sized PRR sales market.

So, let me toss you a complete curve ball --> how about a McKeen car??

Great idea. It would probably be a good seller as they are just off enough from your standard fare AND the PRR had one too.

In all seriousness, really like those cars. Reminds me of the whole Jules Verne thing or something.

I'd love to see MTH rerelease the SD-70ACe with the correct beam frame and fuel tank- it would make the MTH version perfect.

Why not an PRR X31/X32 wagontop?

http://www.steamfreightcars.com/gallery/boxauto/prr77154main.html

Good for not just the PRR, but N&W, WAB, NP, D&H, DT&I, shortlines and MTH could fudge and letter it for SAL (different car, but in the same ballpark)...I realize that Chooch did it in resin a while back, but those are long gone...I've bugged Atlas for this one, but I'm not gonna hold my breath...

As for the McKeen -- blech! Howzabout a scale Brill or EMC?

Any DL&W, Erie Lackawanna diesels.
A Lehigh and Hudson River would be great too.

Santa Fe steam with wireless drawbar and no huge gap between the loco and tender.

Steam Era Santa Fe caboose.
