We have a large 24' x 55' multi-level 3 rail HI-Rail display layout. We are permanently on display in a store front in a Mall. We've been in need of some new members since we started. We now desperately need some help. Yesterday my partner in this dropped like a ton of bricks and was taken out by Ambulance to the ER. I was afraid of heart attack or stroke. He's under a lot of stress, and the layout wasn't co-operating yesterday either. They didn't find a real problem other than an irregular heart-beat. I think there is more going on, but they did run all of the test and discharged him. Blamed it on dehydration. Anyway. I'm not 100% reliable because I've had 4 back surgeries, the last one a total failure. I drive 45 miles to be there, and sometimes due to a bad pain day I don't make it. Most of the work is done by Him, myself and his 9 year old son, who really understands the operations of it all, but he is still 9. We have two other members who show when they can, but one of them is disabled also, and the other is very active with young kids so he gives what he can.
What you get: The chance to work on and run your trains on a large multi-level 3 rail Hi-rail layout with automatic running of 6 trains using conventional engines with auto stop and start and passing sidings. A second mainline with several passing siding and a yard that currently is DCS and will also be TMCC. A 3rd & 4th mainline at a higher level that can run conventional, TMCC, or eventually DCS. A future 5&6 mainline one more level up. Plus 3 trolley tracks with bump & go. There is also a 12 x 12 Christmas theme layout that will run conventional and or TMCC. What we need from you: Time to volunteer. You can come in on a work night which is currently every Wednesday night approximately 7:00pm-10PM or later if you can stay. Or even more of a need is someone to help run trains, talk to visitors, and be a wing man or woman on Sundays from noon-5pm. If you can arrive at 11:00 am to get ready before we open the doors all the better. You need not be there every Sunday. The idea is to get enough interested persons that you could show up every other weekend or as many as you could. If you could even do every third or 4th, that's better than what we got. We could use people who are mature and reliable from say ages 16-90. Equal opportunity, Men, Women, all races welcome. Right now we need no more junior members, we need more adult members. If you need a ride there, it could possibly be arranged. The layout is in the Schuylkill Mall, Frackville, PA at the intersection of State Hwy 61 and Interstate 81. We are permanently house in a storefront. You could be part of something big, that will grow, and is already up and running...most days. A great chance to get some running on your big engines that are too big for your home layout. Please Respond as soon as possible so my down and out partner can get a break. Thank you, Dave Come visit the North Schuylkill High Railers display layout. Open every Sunday 12-5. Conventional, TMCC, & DCS 24' x 55 multi-level Schuylkill Mall, Frackville PA. |

How about some pictures of this layout to accompany your request for volunteers?

A fair request. I'm going to be out of town, most of this week. But I'll see what I can do when I get back. I have plenty of images of the layout. Will do. Dave
