You guys are making some very nice modern era cars. I really appreciate the Kadee mounting holes also. One thing though. Can you PLEASE redesign your truck mounting configuration so that I do not have to take the entire car apart to change from 3 rail trucks to 2 rail. Why can't you have the mounting screw able to be accessed from the bottom of the cars like the rest of the world does. This change would be greatly appreciated on upcoming releases.

PS: Also make some underframes with the kadee pad for your more difficult to convert cars. At the very least, make some of the end platforms for your modern tank cars available. The oder ones are a real pain when trying to attach scale couplers.
I asked MTH for this a few times, and you have a great idea. To get more bang for our buck, why not change the title of your thread to make it relevant to the topic. MTH will have a greater chance of reading it. Maybe something like "MTH Redesign of Truck Mount Needed" or something. I know they seldom read threads with ambiguous titles.
It is indeed a completely unnecessary "feature" today. It is a fairly simple change to enable us to unscrew the coupler from the bottom, instead of from the inside of a boxcar.

I completely agree that it would be easier if the truck mounting screws were accessible from the bottom. However, there is one major engineering advantage of the current configuration. The current design puts the screw threads in the metal trucks while the (usually) plastic car has a loose fitting hole. If the design were reversed so that the screw was mounted from below, the threads would be in the plastic car frame and the trucks would have a loose fitting hole. It would certainly be nice for changing trucks but it may hot be nearly as durable. Food for thought.
