Anybody done one? I don't intend to purchase any more MTH products, so it's not worth my buying another system. But only MTH makes a GP-40. I've got this one apart and notice the spring/pad electric connections and was wondering if there's a wiring diagram anywhere so I can keep the electro couplers and lights. Otherwise, it's trial by error. I'm planning to use ERR's products as replacements. (On the other hand, if anyone knows that a K-line GP-38 could be swapped shell for shell, I'd go that route instead. Real life's do share the same measurements.)

The Proto-2 lights and couplers work with lower voltage than TMCC boards generate. Your best bet is to carefully remove ALL of the Proto-2 boards, flywheel sensor, couplers, lights and smoke unit. You can sell this package as an upgrade kit on the Buy/Sell board to help finance the TMCC conversion.

Thanks, Bob. I think you saved me some frustration! I'll follow your recommendation.
